Nice staff! Comfortable place to stay. Just a basic place, but when you're a low budget traveller, this is a great and cheap place to stay. Also on walking distance from the Bromo vulvano!

    You can drive for 1.5hrs from Probolinggo to Bromo which is...

    You can drive for 1.5hrs from Probolinggo to Bromo which is what we did rather than struggle to get transport there. Also catching the local buses at the terminal, stand just outside the terminal and flag down your bus rather than being in the station harassed by the mafia.

    We didn't see much of the city since we were on transit to Mt. Bromo. Nonetheless, we had a great time staying for a night. The city has a small town feel and the people are easy to talk to. I recommend the fried bananas on the side of the road.

    Probolinggo was fine for what it was - a base from which to...

    Probolinggo was fine for what it was - a base from which to explore Bromo - until I had to leave and found myself at the bus terminal. I’d read about the mafia there trying to scam tourists, and boy were they out in full force. I was prepared but also very much not in the mood, so I didn’t get scammed but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

    Probolinggo is bigger than I thought, but quite quaint.

    Probolinggo is bigger than I thought, but quite quaint. Nice big park near the train station. Plenty of food options. Very cheap. Plenty of methods of transport from 10000 IDR bemos that take you quite long distances to the little buggy/cart type vehicles. Lots of colour.
